Artist Spotlight: Pink Floyd

Ah, yes. THE WALL.
Well it's just that it's one of those things, isn't it?
What I mean is, it's one of those few things in my life that I can come back to again and again and be just as amazed and excited about it as I was when I first discovered it. Or, as with this one, when I first really began to understand it. And it's funny how it just kinda happens. It's always unexpected and always welcome. The same thing happens to me with certain films, albums, and videogames. All of the sudden I'll just get that itch for it, and will obsess over it for about two weeks or so, and then on to something else. I got on my "Wall" tangent this time thatnks to seeing The Squid & The Whale, wherin one of the main characters sings "Hey You" at his school talent show, claiming to have written it. Now I just can't stop thinking about it. How I love my wonderful obsessions.
Side A:
A rock and roller sits in his hotel room. He's a bit bummed. A bit lonely. A bit (insert whatever depresses you here). He thinks about his life. His father's death, his childhood, his mother, his marraige. He get's even more bummed. He tries to call his wife, but she doesn't answer. He thinks some more. He tries caling again from a payphone, a man answers, and he starts getting seriously fucking bummed. He plays a show, let's a groupie come back to his hotel room, and watches t.v. She tries to get him going, he loses it and trashes the place, and floats in the swimming pool as his sanity finally says goodbye to the, you know, cruel world.
Side B:
After losing it, he immidiatly looks around for help. Of course, he's still alone. Keeps on thinking those bad thoughts. Mostly about the whole daddy-died-in-the-war thing. Shaves off eyebrows, takes some drugs, and gets all comfortable and numb-like. Uh-oh. Showtime. Road manager enters hotel room, gets him up, shoots him up, throws him on stage. Psychotic nightmares and delusions prevail as he performs. The heavy thoughts worm their way deeper into our poor protagonists psyche. Backstage he retreats to the bathroom, takes up residence in a stall, and puts his own life on trial to discover if it's all his fault. The wall comes down, the rest is up to you.
MP3s:

When The Tigers Broke Free (in the movie only)
